He first introduced the network capability of 5G in detail, and the applicable industries from the technical points of air interface, security, slicing, MEC, etc., then explained at which electric power scenarios that 5G is applicable based on analysis of the energy and power industry, and finally summarized how Huawei had combined 5G + slicing technologies to meet the requirements.

Zhang Zhonghao, Director of Wireless Division 4, Network Technology Research Institute of China Unicom Group, gave a speech themed Building a New 5G Ecosystem and Creating a Better Future. He expounded the differences in the 5G industry policy positioning and focus among operators around the world, and demonstrated the 5G network deployment plan and network frequency evolution plan of China Unicom and the plan of Fujian Branch to jointly build a new 5G ecosystem.

Han Ren, General Manager of Minghan, gave a speech themed 5G-based Power IoT Technology. He analyzed the application scenarios such as digital power distribution and comprehensive energy services, and pointed out that 5G power IoT was an important development direction in the future: the full implementation of large-scale power IoT would require 5G network support; Power IoT would be the most important application scenario of 5G.

Gao Xiaohua, Deputy Chief Engineer of Fujian Offshore Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Service Company, gave a speech themed Development of 5G + Offshore Wind Power Intelligent Operation and Maintenance IoT. He introduced the intelligent management platform for offshore wind power operation and maintenance, and put forward the idea of applying 5G technology to offshore operation and maintenance.

Yang Jinzhou, Director of the Industrial Internet Think Tank Research Office of the Solution Center of China Unicom Research Institute, gave a speech themed Applying 5G New Drives to Push Forward the Development of Power Business, mainly introducing China Unicom's cases of deeply integrating 5G technology in the field of electric power energy. He pointed out that with the epoch-making performance change of 5G, in combination with MEC, slicing and other technologies, the industrial Internet will be closely connected with the 5G mobile network as never before. In the field of energy and power, the 5G network technology will greatly improve the efficiency, safety, and benefit.

During the seminar, the attendees visited Minghan Industrial Park and watched the video of 5G applications in Xiamen Unicom Building. The demonstration scenarios included the application of 5G and smart energy, and the application of 5G in the distribution IoT from "cloud" to "edge" and from "cloud" to "end".

Zhang Jianping, Party Secretary and Commissioner of Fujian Energy Regulatory Office, made a summary speech. He pointed out that this seminar was a brainstorming of 5G and the development of energy and power industry, and also a meaningful supplement and extension of the ongoing educational activities on the theme of "remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind". At present, the mobile communication technologies represented by 5G are closely integrated with AI and big data, opening a new era of "Internet of Everything and artificial intelligence". 5G has a wide and far-reaching influence on the energy industry, from facility planning, resource integration, investment changes and digital level, to the upgrade and transformation of the industry, and even has triggered a fundamental reform in the energy field. Combined with the new energy security strategy of "four revolutions and one cooperation" proposed by President Xi Jinping, he exchanged his views from the following four aspects on the impact of 5G on the energy industry. First, 5G technology promotes the energy technology revolution and helps the energy industry to realize intelligent upgrading. The large-scale industrialization of 5G technology in the energy industry can effectively promote the development of vertical fields such as renewable energy and smart grid, thus achieving the structural optimization of the energy industry. Second, 5G technology can promote the energy consumption revolution and help to form a new ecology of energy consumption. With the advance of energy transformation and electricity marketization, the public's awareness is becoming more and more important. With the aid of 5G technology, consumers can participate in the interaction between supply and demand, guide the rational use of electricity in non-peak hours, participate in the response to power grid emergencies, thereby minimizing economic losses and social impact. Third, 5G technology can promote the energy supply revolution and support a clean and green energy supply. 5G technology fundamentally transforms the traditional power ecosystem, supports the intelligence of infrastructure in the energy field, realizes the overall optimization of supply and demand of the energy system, promotes the safe, clean, coordinated, and intelligent development of the energy industry, and truly realizes the core strategy of clean energy substitution and electric energy substitution. Fourth, the selection of 5G technology should take into account the technical and other requirements, while emphasizing the construction of an information security system. 5G technology, however, cannot do everything. The technical requirements and customers are diversified, so as the requirements for the security, reliability, bandwidth, delay, and coverage of communication networks. Various applications at all levels should flexibly choose technical paths according to the requirements of reliability and security classification. In the era of energy Internet relying on 5G technology, energy enterprises should strengthen the construction of network security and information security system, and prevent network security issues from the source following the principles of synchronous planning, synchronous construction, and synchronous use of network security. In the end, he proposed two suggestions: First, intensify the research on the integration of energy industry and 5G; closely track the demand of the energy industry for 5G technology and identify new growth opportunities in time; focus on R&D of key technologies, experimental verification, and application demonstration, give play to the role of 5G in supporting the development of energy industry, and seek for 5G technology to provide higher-level business guarantee for special application scenarios of energy industry. Second, promote resource sharing between the electrical power and communications industries. Cross-industry resource sharing between "power tower" and "communication tower" can not only improve the construction efficiency of communication base stations and reduce the construction cost, but also facilitate power grid enterprises to integrate resources and improve the resource utilization rate, realize the functional extension of power towers, and implement the national concept of green and coordinated development.
